today started off rough, so we decided to go explore. i took my real camera along because often it gives me a much needed, new perspective on my kids. sure enough. it worked.

although she’s challenging, look at this kid. she’s magical. to me, she’s perfect.

so we’ve been praying with Findley for a long time now and we always ask her if she’d like to say the prayer. usually she shrugs and requests that Ben or I do it. we’ve never wanted to force her into it so I’ve tired to patiently wait for her to want to join in. tonight Ben had to teach at church so it was just us ladies at dinner time. per usual I asked if Findley would like to pray for our dinner and to my surprise, for the first time ever she said “yes! Oh me, I’ll pray!”

It went just like this.

Dear God.
Thanks for food.
Keep dad safe.
Amen.

I know God heard it and I know he was just as thrilled as I was to listen to that tiny, sweet voice express what was on her heart.
